The Western Cape of South Africa is blessed with a huge range of attractions
and activities for both local and overseas visitors. In particular, the Cape
Peninsula provides a very rich and interesting environment and we have
highlighted a
few of the attractions below.

Table Mountain:
is a sandstone plateau
rising up above the Cape Flats. The top is approximately 3km wide, and at
its highest point, Maclears Beacon, rises to 1085m. Over the centuries it
has become one of South Africa's most famous landmarks.

|
Victoria
and Alfred Waterfront:
Situated in the heart of Cape Town's working
harbour with the dramatic backdrop of the majestic Table Mountain, the Victoria
& Alfred Waterfront is widely acknowledged as Cape Town's premier
shopping and tourist destination and a well known entertainment hotspot.

| Whale
Watching:
From July to December whales can be seen off
the shores of South Africa. Most common in South African waters are
the Southern Right Whales. They come here to breed and can be seen
basking and frolicking often just metres from the shore.

| Cape
Point:
is situated in the Cape of Good Hope section of the
Table Mountain National Park. Cape Point possesses one of the highest
sea cliffs in the world at 249m above sea level.
The lighthouse at Cape Point has long been one of the world’s
great shipping beacons and is the brightest lighthouse in the
Southern Hemisphere.

| Kirstenbosch:
One of the "Seven
Magnificent Botanical Gardens of the World", is one of South Africa's
eight National Botanical Gardens. Preserving South Africa's rich natural
heritage in a unique botanical display.
